It's the changing of the guard at Travmatt, with an old performer retired, and a new kid on the block. So, it's goodbye to NTSC SP Betacam, and hello to XDcam HD.
The Sony D30/PVV3 NTSC SP Betacam joined us in 2002, and with only a handful of NTSC cameras in Australia, it proved a strong performer - truly outlasting all expectations. But alas, her 4:3 525-line frame is obsolete.
Looking to the future, the Sony PMW-350 XDcam HD has arrived. With PAL & NTSC frame-rates, shoulder-mounted operation, and a 2/3" CCD chip - this camera hits the nail on the head. It's the 'big' EX XD camera we've been waiting for.
We'll never find a single camera to serve all Travmatt's needs, but the PMW350 comes close. It presents tremendous versatility from web & viral, to corporate, TV and TVC. The clients have given it their seal of approval, so come and see for yourself!
