ABU DHABI RALLY

Travmatt is in Abu Dhabi, UAE for a week-long assignment filming the 2009 Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge.

The rally features cars, bikes & trucks, and is a five-day event through the fierce desert of the UAE’s ‘Empty Quarter’. Ian CARLESS of TALKABOUT MEDIA (Dubai) will produce a 60-min highlights package for ESPN, filmed with four ENG cameras positioned throughout the course and in the air (plus roving EX1, stunt & onboard-cameras).

In producing the programme, Ian Carless has “got the band back together”, with Ian & Matt joined by Aerial King of Asia, Cameraman Laurie GILBERT. The trio hark back to Hong Kong in the 1990’s, and such productions as the 1994 & 96 Vietnam Marathons, Asian Beach Volleyball, Asian Football, and Johnnie Walker Skins Golf to name a few.

For Matt, the rally continues his involvement in automotive cinematography, and realizes a long-held desire to shoot a Middle East desert event.
